Our Brand Ambassador Lena Proctor has written a short blog on her Eventing progress this season. Lena says ;
I am having a great Eventing season with Ted and he is improving every time we go out.
The end of May was the first of the years Britich Eventing u18 regional qualifiers at Shelford and we had an ok dressage, the infamous unfortunate one pole show jumping (not helped by a new bit I had put on wrong !!) but a fab clear xc within the time.
June was then the last remaining British Eventing u18 100 qualifier this year at Speetley . Last month I had a really nasty fall from CVS Barrie Bug whilst show jumping, ending up in A&E. Barrie had been away to boot camp and I was really happy to have him back for Speetley. His owner Sharon Ball came with us and we stayed over night with Ted and Barrie. Barrie was on first and did a good dressage, considering it was our first competitively. Show jumping 2 down, both my fault but I was a little nervous after my fall last month. But sadly in the cross country he just wasn’t up for it, Mum, Sharon and I decided the combination just wasn’t right and he has sadly gone back to the professional to compete for the season.
Ted, however, was a star. Our best dressage to date, thanks to Sharon’s training, one down show jumping and another fab clear xc within the time. Sharon is still being amazing supporting me with Ted.
Ted has also been out doing some pony club ode’s. The last was Burghley, where I thought the xc was huge, but he just flew round totally looking after me and building my confidence so much.
We didn’t do the BE at Buckminster as I’m a bit worried doing too much on the hard ground.
This weekend (14th July) is the Pony Club Area Eventing qualifier at Rolleston and we’re in the Intermediate team. Fingers crossed. Ted will be gleaming, as always wearing his Belvoir Rug Company Honsie overnight!! Not only does it keep him clean but also makes his plaits stay in and look even smarter.
